HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF
“You Are the Greatest Love of All”
STOP ALL CRITICISM. Self-criticism never changes a thing. Much of it, is just plain mean. Accept yourself as you are. Everybody changes, and when you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive.
DON’T SCARE YOURSELF. Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure and immediately switch your scary thought(s) to pleasurable thoughts. Awareness is key!
BE GENTLE, KIND AND PATIENT. Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn how to change your thoughts about yourself.
BE KIND TO YOUR MIND. Self-hatred is only hating your thoughts. Remember, not every thought you think is true. Challenge your thoughts. Are they fact or fiction?
PRAISE YOURSELF DAILY. Your inner spirit will love you for it. Praise builds you up, and gives you habitual feelings of love. Tell yourself how well you are doing. Show appreciation to yourself for all you accomplish.
SUPPORT YOURSELF. Find ways to be more of a help to yourself, than a hindrance. Reach out to others for help. A good all-around support system is worth its weight in gold.
BE LOVING TO YOUR NEGATIVES. Remember that you created them to fulfill a need. When you find new ways to fill your needs, you can let go of those old patterns.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY. Learn about nutrition. Fuel yourself up with vital energy. Love the body you are in right now. Cherish and revere the person you are right now. Strike a pose. Be your own super hero!
MIRROR WORK. Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. See it on your face. Beam. Smile at yourself. Forgive yourself while looking in the mirror. Say: “I love you.”
DO IT NOW. Don’t wait a moment longer. Don’t wait until you get well, or lose the weigh, or find the new relationship. Begin now-do the best you can.
