“If you want to have a great vacation…
Choose the State and the
Relatives You Visit —> Wisely!!!”
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the very beautiful, friendly state of Virginia.
Virginia is the most southern of the Middle Atlantic States.
Virginia has many nicknames, which include, “Mother of Presidents.”
Many of the early presidents of the United States were native Virginians.
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and others.
“Mother of States” because she was the first of the states to be settled and because of the number of states that were “born” of the Virginia territory.
West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana (my home state), Wisconsin, and even a part of Minnesota were all part of the original Virginia territory.
I’ve decided to coin a newer nickname: “Mother of Two Hosts With the Most,” because I had the best time visiting my sweet but ornery brother Paul, and his darling wife, Joyce.
They treat you right!
Not only do they have a quaint, welcoming, country home right outside of Buchanan, Virginia, but they also happen to be the best sight-seeing hosts one could ever wish for.
I parked my car and rarely got back in it until I left.
Both Paul (nicknamed him “Brother”) and/or I took lots of the pictures that follow.
Their spacious property proudly adjoins the historic James River!
Can you guess which one of us took the bear picture?
Does the name on the 3rd rock look…
I am a lover of antiques!
