Without living our passion…It’s very hard to find our place in the world.
Monday comes too soon…and Friday…not soon enough.
Living life with no sense of passion is like watching paint dry!
You have to be HUNGRY enough to swim towards it.
Ravenous like a shark!
You have to be focused, motivated, tenacious, and ready to make your move as soon as the window of opportunity opens.
OK…it may be a door, but you are ready for any indication that you can walk through, climb through to the thing that makes you want to holler, and throw up both your hands.
You will smile, even laugh in delight. I mean real delight. Loud delight.
You may think the love of your life is a human.
It’s not. It’s your passion.
The thing that makes you stand straight, shoulders back, eyes on the prize, and so on and so forth. Work with me here!
It’s you saying: “MINE. MINE. MINE.”
‘Cause it is yours!
It’s you smelling perfume in the air.
It’s you tasting the best chocolate in the world.
It’s you feeling like a new person who can walk on water, feel the wind on your face, blowing through you hair and you just don’t care.
Nope! Passion Ain’t Shallow.
If you haven’t found yours yet, look underneath all the crud that keeps you from seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, and feeling it.
Hold your breathe and submerge yourself. It’s deep. And when you find it, it’s yours to keep.
Where are you finding yourself right about now? Is there something you love to do so much that you willingly push through the pain to get to the pleasure of consistently doing it?
Because that’s what it takes.
Passion ain’t shallow like a creek. It’s deep like an ocean. When you have passion for something, you suit up and deliberately allow it to engulf you.
It could sink you, but you’re not having any of that. You may have to struggle a bit at first, but it’s the intense feeling you get from braving the pressure that keeps you motivated.
So what if you have to practice to get to permanent. It’s worth it!
Let’s say…You can sing so well, you break glass. Everybody tells you what a great dancer you are. You can play the heck out of one or many instruments. You take brilliant photographs. You excel at math. You could sell somebody you don’t even know the Brooklyn Bridge.
But…although you may be getting accolades right now for doing any of these, they bore you to tears.
Whoopdee Dupdee…you couldn’t care less.
In my opinion, your “true passion” lies deeper. You have to pump both your mind and body away from things that never really excited you much in the first place.
Go ahead…admit it!
When you find your real passion…you’re going to need the space!
According to Les Matheson, a guy who posted on a site I frequent called Quora, this process might help:
Imagine you’re in a room where someone has taken life apart and strewn the parts all over the floor — it’s a total mess, confusion prevails, it doesn’t look like anything meaningful or whole.
But, as you wander around picking things up and trying to figure it all out, you discover a couple of parts that do fit together.
Only in this game, every time that happens, you have a strange sensation — you’re not just reassembling life, you’re both assembling and discovering who you are.
Every time some of those pieces fit, there’s a surge of awakening and discovery… an epiphany or peak experience.
These bursts are passion. They’re the realization that you and life are somehow one thing.
Suddenly you realize that you do have some say in the matter.
You have the only say in how much of this unity gets realized, fulfilled, and recovered.
The time is NOW!!!
Don’t you want to live a life filled with passion???
If you already are…please please please brag about it in the comments!!!
