For many, the best part of waking up to them is having their 1st cup of coffee.
Some of us may even recall the classic Folgers commercial that bam-blasted us with their melodic jingle encouraging us to start our day with a cup of their coffee.
I won’t deny that coffee is one of the 1st things many people think of even before they jump out of bed.
At least, it’s the reason they feel ‘jumping’ out for coffee will really get the best part of their day going.
Maybe!
But, what else might get you out of bed in the morning? What else might contribute to the best part of waking up for you?
What if the best part of your day started by giving thanks for the day ahead? Feeling gratitude for being able to get up at all?
Feeling blessed to even have a coffee pot?
What about starting your day with meditation? Exercise? A few passages of your favorite bible verses?
Being able to get in your car and head off to a job you love?
Maybe, you’re going to get married today? Or you’re going to jet off on a nice vacation?
You may even be retiring today. Who wouldn’t be excited about being able to do this?
WOW!
The best part of your day being able to do all the things you’ve always wanted to do by choice.
However, when I think about the best part of ‘waking up,’ I’m specifically alluding to seeing our worth, how valuable we are, our potential, talents, and the many options these afford us.
I’m thinking of what we have to contribute to our families, our communities, and our own well-being.
We’re no longer blind. Now we see. We’ve become curious, spiritually inclined, and ready to open ourselves up to the many wonders in and around the universe.
This is the kind of ‘waking up,’ the awareness, I want us all to consider, even if we R set on accomplishing something even more worthwhile with a delicious piping hot classic brew in our cups.
So…what has been, or is now, continuing to be the best part of waking up for you???
*Thanks Google Images*
Definitely a cup of steaming hot filter coffee for me. I open my eyes when I wake up but I can see only after having the first sip. 🙂

I figured coffee ☕️ has to be 1st, but after that first sip, any best parts you’d like to share???😏

I guess I wake up mostly because I have to send my kid to school :D. One thing that I like most , after coffee of course, is a quick walk around my locality breathing in the morning freshness that is prevalent before the traffic begins

Sounds wonderful. Starting one’s morning with breaths of freshness is the best, even if a gulp or two of java must come first. I don’t do coffee ☕️ no more, but I get the rest. Thanks for sharing!

I sit in my garden to sip the first cup of coffee in the morning and pray at the same time for at least half an hour. The next best thing is to walk around to check my plants and flowers. Usually, that’s the time I get the inspiration and do my writing in the head. 🙂

Hey! Cool post! 🙂
As you say, for the single biggest reason to get up early, is so that I can do whatever I feel like doing before I go to work.
All things in my life that are of major importance, my health and family are cared for before I leave the house.
Those moments inspire me every single morning! 🙂
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to read more! 🙂

What makes me smile is listening to the birds and seeing the sun shining. Then having a warm cup of java or tea by myself. 😉

Inspiring! 🙂 It definitely caused me to pause and think. And then I realized, you are saying the same thing my husband always says, just in a different way! We need to be grateful for each and every day we have to wake up to because we never know how many more we have left. Be grateful for waking up! (Good motivation for me as I too often drag my feet)

Sparkyjen, I start my day right off with a few minutes of prayers, daily scripture & devotional readings then zoom down to the kitchen to make my morning pot(s) of tea: one green (for the 1st few cups) & a black tea for after breakfast (& the eventual to-go mug.) Tea makes mornings better? (a nice breakfast does, too.) 🙏☀️🍵☕️🍵☀️🌷

After the first cup of tea, (yep – that’s the English coming out…) it’s definitely gratitude that I’m here, loving life and able to share great times with my family! xx

You and the fam do seem to have a super duper time. If the tea helps, may we all be English!!!

Wondering: Is your coffee like your reward? It doesn’t seem like you need it to get you up and out.

My best part of waking up is my morning tea. I love tea! Also, I love the morning sun. Nothing beats that bright, early sun that lets you know an entire day of possibilities awaits you!
